About this page
This Cookie Policy explains how PivotReset ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on pivotreset.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes our broader data practices. Both policies should be read together.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences (such as login state or theme) and help the site work more efficiently. We also use related technologies, including local storage (data stored in your browser), session storage (data stored only for the current visit), and web beacons (small images used for analytics).
Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies (essential)
These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They include cookies that enable user authentication, manage session state, store form inputs as you fill them out, and remember consent choices. Without these, parts of PivotReset will not work.
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase auth tokens | Authenticated sessions for users with accounts | Session — up to 1 hour, refreshed |
localStorage entries (e.g., pr_milestones, pr_signup_date) | Tool inputs, decision tool state, onboarding progress | Persistent — until cleared by the user |
sessionStorage entries (e.g., pr_session) | Page-view tracking within a single browsing session | Session — cleared when browser tab closes |
Analytics cookies
These help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve content and tools. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which is configured with Google's Consent Mode v2: by default, no analytics data is collected until you grant consent. If you grant analytics consent, GA4 sets the following cookies:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique users for Google Analytics | 2 years |
_ga_X6VPXDJTM0 | Persists session state for our specific GA4 property | 2 years |
If you decline analytics consent, GA4 still loads but operates in "modeled data" mode, where no cookies are set and only aggregated, anonymous, statistical pings are sent.
Functionality cookies
These remember preferences that improve your experience but are not required for the site to function — for example, theme preference (dark mode), recently viewed life events, or remembered display settings on tools.
Advertising cookies (planned)
PivotReset is preparing to display advertising through Google AdSense. When AdSense is enabled, the following will apply: ad serving and measurement cookies will be set only after you grant advertising consent through the cookie banner. Until that point, ad-related cookies (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) remain "denied" via Consent Mode v2. We do not use any third-party tracking, retargeting, or data-broker cookies. This Cookie Policy will be updated with specific cookie names, durations, and providers when AdSense is active on the site.
Third-party cookies and services
The following third parties may set cookies on your device when you interact with specific features of the site:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — analytics, only if you grant consent. Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts (Google LLC) — fonts loaded from
fonts.googleapis.comfor typography. No cookies are set, but Google may log your IP address. - Stripe (Stripe, Inc.) — payment processing, only if you initiate a Pro subscription. Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication and account storage, only if you create an account. Firebase Privacy Information.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) — security and performance. Cloudflare may set technical cookies for bot mitigation and performance optimization. Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
How to manage cookies
Through our consent banner
When a cookie consent banner is present on the site, you can grant or deny consent for analytics, advertising, and personalization cookies independently. Your choice is remembered for future visits and can be changed at any time through the cookie preferences link in the footer.
Through your browser
You can also control cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies on a per-site basis. Disabling essential cookies will likely break parts of PivotReset (such as saving tool inputs or staying logged in).

- Cookie settings in Safari
- Cookie settings in Edge
Through industry opt-out tools
For advertising cookies (when AdSense is active), you can use industry-wide opt-out tools:
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) opt-out
- European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) opt-out
- Google's Ad Settings
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. We currently treat DNT signals as advisory rather than binding because there is no industry-standard interpretation. We honor explicit consent choices made through our cookie banner, which provide more granular control than DNT.
Children's cookies
PivotReset is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly set cookies on devices belonging to children. If you believe we have done so, contact us and we will delete the relevant data.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new tools or change our analytics, advertising, or third-party providers. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced through a notice on the site.
